Community Outreach

As a church, our mission is to join God in the renewal of all things. We strive to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel by meeting the spiritual and physical needs of those in our community. Our goal is to ensure everyone we encounter knows they are loved and NOT ALONE.

While our efforts are not limited to structured programs, we currently partner with the ministries and organizations listed here in outreach initiatives. This provides opportunities for us join God in what He is doing here and around the world.

“Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

-Psalm 82:3-4 NIV

  • PNO for Foster and Adoptive Families
    • Once a year, Vineyard Church hosts a Parents Night Out for children ages 6 weeks-17yrs. This allows Foster/Adoptive parents to enjoy a fun, restful evening out. Children will enjoy games, arts and crafts, and other fun activities while their parents enjoy a free night out on us. Pizza & snacks will be provided. For more information, you can contact Zac Weaver, or Natasha Warren (See below).
  • TN-KEY Classes
    • Foster parents in Tennessee play a key role in the future of the children and families they encounter. Whether providing temporary support or a permanent home, foster parents help to strengthen families and provide children a safe environment where they know they are important and loved.
      TN KEY (Knowledge Empowers You) classes show how foster parents work with DCS to improve the lives of children, give information about current DCS policies on caring for children in custody, and ultimately help determine if foster parenting is right for you. Whether you want to provide a temporary home for children in need or have the ultimate goal of adoption, TN KEY training will help prepare you for the unique challenges and rewards of becoming a foster parent. Vineyard Church periodically hosts these classes and will connect you with a class if we are not hosting. You can also find more information about becoming a Foster Parent in Tennessee by visiting this website.
  • Wrap Around Families
    • Not every family is called to foster or adopt, but we believe we are all called to care for the orphan. A great way to do this is to be a “Wrap-Around Family”. Our “Wrap-Around Families” support families who are fostering and adopting children. This means you pray, encourage, bring meals, offer childcare, meet immediate needs, assist in Christmas gifts, etc. We will help you find a family that is a great match.

For more information on any of these resources or opportunities, contact Natasha.

Family Promise

Family Promise exists to end homelessness in Blount County one family at a time. Local churches partner with Family Promise by providing meals for families in static housing—either home-cooked meals or takeout. They also accept gift cards to help those in care with gas and groceries.

Our church partners with Family Promise by providing meals and other necessary items 3 weeks during the year. Visit their website for more information and to hear their story. You can help by signing up to provide a meal during our church’s week, or by donating a gift card to help with gas and groceries.

Please drop off gift cards on Sundays between 9am-1pm at Vineyard Church, or mail them to 1225 William Blount Drive Maryville, TN 37801.

Email Chris Carpenter if you have any questions, or want to find out other ways you can help Family Promise.
